What is BRAVO?

BRAVO (Bridging Recreational and Vocational Opportunities) is a community center that offers recreational and vocational activities to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to promote personal growth and professional skill development. Activities are held onsite at 1525 Merrill Drive, Little Rock, AR, and off-site at different community sites. Our main Little Rock site consists of multiple areas to foster social and life skill development including a fully furnished kitchen, laundry room, computer lab, and main activity area. To cultivate pre-vocational skill development, ICM also offers three unique retail stores (Biscuits-Homemade Pet Treat Bakery, Bamboo-Home Décor Store, & Brushes-Art Studio and Gallery).

What Makes ICM’s Community Center Different?

ICM believes that people with disabilities should have meaningful options when choosing how to spend each day. People who attend BRAVO choose how each day will look for them. Some people may come five days per week for several hours while others may attend for a couple of hours, one day per week. There is not a typical day in BRAVO. One person may start their day by drinking coffee, watching the news, and socializing with others, while another person may begin their day baking dog treats in Biscuits followed by a trip to a local trail to go hiking.

How to Attend BRAVO?

  • Medicaid
    • Adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities who have completed high school and receive Arkansas Medicaid benefits can attend BRAVO.

BRAVO Stores

BRAVO includes three stores to advance our mission of providing pre-vocational learning opportunities to people with disabilities.

Store Hours: Monday – Friday 10am-4pm

Biscuits

Biscuits is a homemade pet treat bakery designed to help people with disabilities develop skills in a bakery, kitchen, and retail environment. As you walk in you will be greeted by a retail store featuring different pet treats and pet items for sale. Across from the main entrance is a large series of windows allowing customers to observe the many pet treats being made.

Bamboo

Bamboo is a retail store featuring many Arkansas-made items including home décor, small furniture pieces, seasonal items, gifts. As a fully functioning retail store, Bamboo offers people with disabilities the opportunity to learn many skills including cash handling, inventory management, social skills, and pricing.

Brushes

Brushes is an art studio and gallery allowing people with disabilities to cultivate and express their artistic abilities. Many of the pieces produced in our studio are sold in the gallery to the public.
