Welcome to ICM - Providing Supports to Individuals with Developmental Disabilities in Arkansas

ICM is a is a non-profit organization designated as a 501(c)(3) agency with administrative offices in Little Rock, Arkansas. We have a wide-spread service area, that includes every county in Arkansas, through which we provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities. ICM has the capacity to serve any individuals at home, no matter where in Arkansas they live. Our dedication to inclusion and community supports have enabled us to support individuals in becoming strong and independent citizens contributing to society and the community. We are highly respected leaders in our field and dedicated to individuals with disabilities and their families.

History

In the late 1980's the State of Arkansas wanted to find a new way to support individuals with disabilities. Previously people were being sent out of state for care, and the institutionalization rate was very high. The concept of services tailored to individual need, provided in the setting of choice, structured and designed with the help of the individual and their family, was born. This concept was the Arkansas Medicaid Waiver, today referred to as "waiver." Independent Case Management, Inc. (ICM) was started as a pilot funded by the state to implement this new an innovative approach to service delivery.
